Sun Protection for Babies
Baby skin is extremely sensitive — it is thinner than adult skin and does not yet have mature UV protection. Babies under 12 months should NOT be exposed to direct sunlight. Sunscreen is only recommended from 6 months. The best protection: shade, UV clothing, and avoiding midday sun.

- Completely avoid midday sun (11am-3pm) — UV radiation is strong even in shade
- For sunburn: cool immediately, aloe vera gel, give plenty to drink — see doctor for blisters

- Hot, red head WITHOUT sweating (heatstroke → EMERGENCY 112)

From 12 months: continue avoiding direct sun, but brief sun exposure with protection possible. ALWAYS: sun hat with wide brim and neck protection. Even in the car: UV film on side windows.
