12-13 hours. Consistent bedtimes help. Some children start having night fears or nightmares. Night light can be calming.

Children becoming pickier — phase is normal and will pass. Offer new foods at least 10-15 times before giving up. Cooking together sparks interest.

Role play with dolls and stuffed animals, building sandcastles, bubbles, throwing and catching balls, memory game with large cards.

• 2-word sentences are a milestone — expand them: child says 'ball there', you say 'Yes, the red ball is there!'
• Don't remove stair gates — safety over ability
• Naming emotions helps with tantrums: 'You're frustrated'
• Playground visits for social development
