FAQ
How often should I breastfeed my newborn?
8-12 times in 24 hours, roughly every 2-3 hours. Frequent feeding in the early weeks is important to build milk supply. Feed on demand — your baby will show you when they're hungry.
How long should a feeding session last?
10-45 minutes depending on baby and age. Newborns often take longer. Watch for active drinking (swallowing sounds) and let baby empty one breast before switching.
Why keep a feeding log?
A feeding log helps you and your midwife spot patterns: Is baby feeding regularly? Are both sides used evenly? How has feeding duration changed over weeks? Especially useful when troubleshooting feeding issues.
